An arrest has been made in the murder of a man in Butler County.
Kentucky State Police said 43-year-old Samantha J. Stewart, of Morgantown, has been arrested in the death of 57-year-old Michael Embry, also of Morgantown. In addition to the murder charge, Stewart has been charged with tampering with physical evidence. She was lodged in the Butler County Jail.
On Wednesday afternoon, troopers responded to the home at 2739 Caneyville Road (Hwy 79) after Embry’s lifeless body was found at the residence. Police immediately suspected foul play, although details of the murder have not yet been released.
Embry’s body has been transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville for autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by KSP detectives.
