Kentucky State Police Wednesday night released the identities of the two people airlifted after a head-on collision in Clarkson Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred Tuesday at noon on the eastbound approach to the Millerstown Street Western Kentucky Parkway overpass, when a westbound Buick passenger car, being driven by 35-year-old Whitney White, of Leitchfield, swerved into the eastbound lane and struck a Toyota passenger car, being driven by 51-year-old William Clayton, of Leitchfield.
Both were airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Traffic was diverted around the scene while a Kentucky State Police accident re-constructionist investigated the wreck. The roadway was reopened to through traffic at about 4:30.
Responding to the scene were Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith, the Clarkson and Leitchfield Fire Departments, EMS, and Kentucky Transportation workers.
