Two people have been airlifted after a head-on collision on Millerstown Street in Clarkson.
Tuesday afternoon at approximately noon, Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith, the Clarkson and Leitchfield Fire Departments and EMS responded to the accident on the Millerstown Street Western Kentucky Parkway overpass.
Marks at the scene indicate a westbound Buick passenger car entered the opposite lane of travel, striking an eastbound Toyota passenger car head-on at the eastbound approach to the overpass.
The female driver of the Buick was airlifted from Clarkson Ballpark to University of Louisville Hospital. The male driver of the Toyota was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center before being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.
Traffic was diverted around the scene while a Kentucky State Police accident re-constructionist investigated the wreck. The roadway was reopened to through traffic at about 4:30.
Kentucky State Police has not yet released the names of the two people injured, as the investigation is ongoing.
