The Falls of Rough man wanted for walking away from a hospital after leading police on a chase from the Western Kentucky Parkway to McLean County has surrendered to authorities.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police had been looking for 20-year-old Michael Blalock since April 10 when he blew by a marked Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer at 94 miles per hour on the parkway near Central City, where he exited. Blalock continued fleeing into McLean County where he wrecked, overturning his vehicle.
Blalock was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville where, because of a shortage of troopers who were working a fatality accident (and the fact that KSP thought he was hurt worse than he was), walked away from the hospital.
Wednesday afternoon, Blalock walked into the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and turned himself in.
He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he’s charged with multiple counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, multiple counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), reckless driving, unlawful transaction with a minor (illegal controlled substance), trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, speeding 25 mph over the limit, driving on a suspended/revoked license, and possession of drug paraphernalia along with several traffic-related offenses.
