A man brandishing a rifle and being “aggressive” has been shot by his mother during an altercation in Hart County, according to Kentucky State Police.
Thursday afternoon at 12:45, troopers were dispatched to 5475 Hammonsville Road, about six miles southeast of Bonnieville, in reference to a domestic disturbance between a mother and her adult son.
In the initial call to 911, the mother told dispatchers that “her son had possession of a rifle and was being physically aggressive toward her,” according to state police. A “physical altercation between the two” ensued with the man shot by his mother. Police did not offer further details on the shooting.
The man was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where police said he’s in stable condition.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is being led by Kentucky State Police.
