Grayson County HS track and field team honors 2021 seniors

The Grayson County High School track and field team honored their seniors for the Class of 2021 in a ceremony after their home track meet on Tuesday.

During the competition portion of the evening, the school welcomed in Meade County, Edmonson County, Franklin-Simpson, Caverna, and Butler County. The Lady Cougars finished in first place with the Cougar boys coming in as the second-place finisher.

GCHS track and field head coach Matt Hayes says that there were 11 total seniors recognized with 10 on the Cougar boys and one, Braelyn Hayes, for the Lady Cougars. The boys’ seniors are Austin Bohn, John LeGaweic, Evan Hayse, Dominic Vigil, Caden Jennings, Joseph Beasley, Eli Helm, Luke Gallagher, Tanner Hayes, and Jagger Vanmeter.

Both teams will now turn their focus to the Elizabethtown Panther Twilight meet on Friday evening. The field events are slated to begin at 4:15 pm CT with running events set for 5:00 pm.
