A Leitchfield teen has been arrested on DUI and drug charges after a minor accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway.

Friday morning at approximately 2:15, 18-year-old Nathaniel Pennington was arrested by Grayson County Deputies Andy Vincent and Sean Fentress after they found several Oxycodone pills on Pennington, and marijuana in his 2017 Honda Civic, according to the arrest citation.

Vincent conducted a field sobriety test on Pennington, who emanated an odor of alcohol, and was arrested. He admitted to smoking marijuana (his tongue was green) and drinking beer and alcoholic iced tea (Twisted Tea) prior to driving, the citation states.

Additionally, Pennington “appeared confused about where he was coming from and which direction he was traveling in,” the citation says.

Pennington was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was charged with DUI (age 21 or younger), possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to notify address change to department of transportation.

He has since been released.
