Kentucky State Police has released additional information on a Butler County triple homicide.

According to KSP Post 3 Public Affairs Officer Daniel Priddy, troopers were notified Tuesday morning at approximately 9:45 by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office that three people were found shot to death at a residence at 88 Lonnie Snodgrass Road, just off Hwy 79 about six-and-a-half miles inside Butler County.

Through the course of the investigation, Priddy said KSP detectives were able to determine that 63-year-old Lupe V. Mcgranahan, 79-year-old Charles W. Mcgranahan and 30-year-old Angela R. Carey, all of Morgantown, had been shot multiple times. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Law enforcement located 32-year-old Joseph M. Carey, of Bowling Green, the husband of Angela R. Carey, at the residence, Priddy said. He was detained and questioned and later charged with one count of domestic violence murder, two counts of murder and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

He was lodged in the Butler County Jail.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday at the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

KSP troopers and detectives were assisted at the scene by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Morgantown Police Department, Butler County EMS, and the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

No mugshot of the suspect was immediately available from the Butler County Jail.
