A man has been killed in a Hardin County car crash.
Kentucky State Police spokesman Scotty Sharp said that on Monday afternoon at approximately 3:45, troopers responded to the wreck near the 9100 block of Rineyville Road.
Sharp said the preliminary investigation revealed a 17-year-old was driving a 2015 Dodge Challenger east on Rineyville Road, near Crume Road. For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed the center line, driving into the path of a westbound 2012 Honda passenger car, being driven by 50-year-old Jason Stern, of Chicago, Illinois, causing a collision.
A 29-year-old passenger in Stern’s vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office (at the time of the KSP press release, the decedent’s immediate family had not yet been notified).
The 17-year-old was airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital and Stern was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
