The November coronavirus surge at Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation (GNR) appears to be waning.

Between November 15 and November 30, GNR reported 41 new cases of the virus, and at one point had 30 active cases within the facility: 15 residents and 15 staff members. In the five day period between November 25 and November 30, the long-term care facility had 19 cases of the deadly virus confirmed.

As of Monday, though, the spread of COVID-19 has slowed considerably, as there were five active cases within GNR: two residents and three staff.

Since March, GNR has had 120 people associated with the 72-bed facility — 71 residents, 49 staff — test positive for coronavirus.

Ten deaths at the facility, all residents, have been blamed on the virus.

Grayson County’s other nursing home, Spring View Nursing & Rehabilitation, has had 45 cases arise from the facility, but currently has zero active cases.

Two Spring View resident deaths have been blamed on the virus.
