Drug investigation results in Ohio Co. man busted on meth charges

A joint drug investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police has resulted in the arrest of a Rosine man.

Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said the “investigation focused on the alleged consumption of crystal methamphetamine at a residence in the 3000 Block of Vine Hill Road in Beaver Dam.” Authorities obtained a search warrant for the residence and while executing the warrant located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested 48-year-old Billy Austin and charged him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Austin was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.

Beatty said that additional arrests regarding the investigation are anticipated.
