Two weeks ago, Kentucky State Police officials issued a statement saying that driver testing will resume on July 1, but that information appears to have been prematurely released.
“Kentucky State Police put out a statement that we would be scheduling appointments for road tests on July 1, 2020. We have been told there will be a website to make appoints but KSP has no information on this as of today, June 30, 2020,” the Grayson County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The original release by KSP said state police “will begin scheduling appointments for road tests (class D) on July 1, but that, “there is a substantial backlog of road tests that were cancelled” due to the coronavirus pandemic. The backlogged citizens “will be scheduled first, in order to eliminate the backlog.”
With no movement on the matter from the KSP Driver Testing Branch, the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office said, “We understand your frustration with this. We are frustrated as well, but please be patient with our office as we are waiting for guidance from KSP. We will keep you informed on this issue as soon as we hear anything new from KSP.”
