After an investigation spanning several states, a Texas man has been arrested in connection to a woman’s body being placed in a container that was found floating in Kentucky Lake on Saturday.

On Tuesday, police arrested 60-year-old Jeffery Rogers, of Arlington, in Fort Worth and charged him with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence after the body of 41-year-old Traci L. Jones, of Granbury, Texas, was found in a plastic container on the lake.

Jones’ body was found at about 7:30 Saturday night near Colson Hollow, in Trigg County.

According to police, Rogers used a boat rented in Paris, Tennessee, just across the Kentucky state line, to dispose of the body.

Rogers was being held in a Texas jail on $1 million bond. He awaits extradition to Tennessee.

The homicide case remains under investigation.
