A semi-truck hauling lumber flipped on St. Anthony Road Monday morning, closing the roadway for several hours.

Monday morning at approximately 8:45, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jarrod Mudd, Lt. Sonny Poteet and the Anneta Fire Department responded to St. Anthony Road after an eastbound semi dropped off the right shoulder of the road into a deep ditch, flipping the truck and trailer onto its side.

The trailer struck a “main transmission power line,” according to police, and broke it in half.

The truck was hauling rough cut oak lumber, which came loose during the wreck.

The driver, Gregory Gordon, of Alabama, complained of neck and shoulder pain but was otherwise unhurt.

St. Anthony Road was shut down for several hours as crews removed the semi and its load, and cleared the area of debris.
