The Marshall County teenager who pled guilty to shooting and killing two classmates and shooting and injuring 16 others has been sentenced to life in prison.
Gabe Parker, 15 at the time of the mass shooting, changed his original not guilty plea in late April to guilty of two counts of murder and 14 counts of first-degree assault.
He will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years, according to media reports.
Bailey Nicole Holt and Preston Ryan Cope, both 15, were killed in the January 23, 2018, shooting at Marshall County High School.
“It’s unbearable to think about, some days I’m still not able to breathe,” Bailey Holt’s mother, Secret Holt said in a statement. “Our lives have forever changed. Life on earth is unimaginable.”
