A mother and her young daughter have perished in a Greenville house fire.
Kentucky State Police said the Tuesday early morning fire in the 200 block of Wilson Street claimed the lives of 30-year-old Kristina Pyszka and her three-year-old daughter. Pyszka was pronounced dead at the scene while her daughter died at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg County.
The Greenville Fire Department reports on its Facebook page that law enforcement and fire personnel located a male, two females and a dog outside the residence after they were removed from inside the home.
Originally, officials were told a nine-year-old child was in the residence, but the boy was found unharmed at a neighbor’s house.
The fire department said the male victim was transported to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg County with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say there were no smoke detectors in the home, according to a report by WFIE.com.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by a KSP arson investigator, but foul play is not suspected.
