A Caneyville man has been jailed after shooting at a female realtor and young girl.

Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:45, a female realtor with Agency 1 Real Estate was showing a large property in the 2500 block of Falls of Rough Road to potential buyers. The realtor had a young female with her.

Soon, 55-year-old Phillip Bratcher, of Caneyville, approached the two females as he brandished a .22 long gun. According to police, Bratcher was being belligerent as he, for an unknown reason, did not think the realtor had reason to be on the property (which he does not own).

The two females entered a vehicle, with Bratcher then shooting one of the vehicle’s tires. Bratcher then left the area before returning, as he continued to behave in a belligerent fashion.

The two potential buyers were not near where the shooting occurred as they inspected the property.

The victim notified Grayson County Central Dispatch of the shooting, with Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Fred Norder and Deputies Jason Luedke and Andy Vincent, Constable Mark Stanton, Caneyville Police Chief Anthony Clark and Kentucky State Police Trooper Brandon Brooks responding to the scene.

Bratcher was quickly found and arrested at his residence in the 14000 block of Beaver Dam Road. He’s been charged with two counts of felony wanton endangerment and third-degree criminal mischief. He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

K105 will have additional details on the shooting as more information becomes available.
