The Elizabethtown woman murdered by her daughter and a Radcliff man is a former resident of Grayson County.
Kathy Erbelding, 63, who was blind, was shot twice, once in the head and abdomen, and left in the basement of the home she shared with her daughter, Krystal Erbelding, 33.
According to The News-Enterprise, Krystal Erbelding transferred $700 from her mother’s bank account into her own, and admitted to investigators that she purchased the gun used to kill her mother.
According to online records, the Erbelding’s formerly resided in Grayson County. It’s unclear how long ago and for how long the pair lived in the county.
In addition to the victim’s daughter, Kentucky State Police arrested Jacob Lugmayer, 27, of Radcliff, and charged him in connection to the case.
Lugmayer was captured by police Thursday night after he ran from Kathy Erbelding’s home on Wise Lane as troopers arrived to investigate after the Elizabethtown Police Department received a tip that a murder had taken place at the residence.
Lugmayer admitted to police he was at the home attempting to dispose of the body.
Police said they believe the victim was shot Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Both suspects are being held in the Hardin County Detention Center where they are charged with complicity to commit murder, complicity to commit first-degree robbery and abuse of a corpse. Lugmayer is additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence.
