Two Hardin County residents have been charged with murder, including the daughter of the victim.

Kentucky State Police spokesman Scotty Sharp said troopers arrested 33-year-old Krystal A. Erbelding, of Elizabethtown, and 27-year-old Jacob Lugmayer, of Radcliff, for the murder of 63-year-old Kathy Erbelding, of Elizabethtown.

Kathy Erbelding was found deceased at approximately 9:00 Thursday night at her residence at 398 Wise Lane, about one mile northwest of Towne Mall. She had been shot to death.

Within hours of discovering the body, the investigation, involving state police, the Elizabethtown Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, led authorities to Krystal Erbelding and Lugmayer. They were arrested early Friday morning.

Krystal Erbelding, Kathy Erbelding’s daughter, was charged with murder, robbery and abuse of a corpse, while Lugmayer was charged with murder, robbery, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

They are both lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. Sharp said the investigation is ongoing and being led by KSP Det. Tony Hardin.
