A Grayson County Sheriff’s Office sergeant has arrested three DUI drivers during one shift.
The first DUI Sgt. Zane Greer made occurred at approximately 7:05 Tuesday night. Greer, who was patrolling in the 5000 block of Brandenburg Road, observed Wayne D. Grubbs III, of Leitchfield, traveling north at 82 miles per hour.
Greer executed a traffic stop on Grubbs and upon making contact with the suspect, Greer said he noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Through an investigation, Greer determined Grubbs was under the influence and in possession of marijuana.
Grubbs was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the limit, no insurance, no registration plate, and no registration receipt. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
Then, at approximately 11:30 Tuesday night, Greer and Deputy Sean Fentress were alerted by Grayson County Central Dispatch that a white Toyota Tundra was driving erratically on the westbound Western Kentucky Parkway, just east of the Clarkson exit.
Greer made contact with the vehicle on the parkway and observed the truck driving “all over the road,” according to the sergeant. He initiated a traffic stop on the truck, being driven by 41-year-old Charles A. Warren, of Elizabethtown, and quickly determined Warren was under the influence. After performing a field sobriety test, Greer arrested the suspect.
Warren was charged with DUI (aggravating circumstances) and reckless driving and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
Finally, at approximately 7:30 Wednesday morning, and as he was traveling to his home at the end of his shift, Greer observed a vehicle traveling south at over 70 miles per hour in the 9000 block of Anneta Road. Greer pulled in behind the vehicle, being driven by 24-year-old Caleb Reynolds, of Bee Spring, and observed Reynolds driving erratically.
Upon stopping and making contact with the suspect, Greer determined Reynolds was under the influence of alcohol.
Reynolds was arrested and charged with DUI and speeding 17 miles per hour or more over the limit. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
