A Floyd County couple has been accused of abusing multiple children over the last 12 years.

Thomas Stacy Jr. and his wife Jennifer Stacy, of Martin, were charged with sexually abusing and allowing the sexual abuse of their adopted/foster children, who were younger than 12 when the abuse occurred between September 2008 and January 2020.

Jennifer Stacy is facing four counts of first-degree criminal abuse and one count of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault. Thomas Stacy Jr. was charged with criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12, sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 and sodomy. Thomas Stacy, who served as a pastor of a Floyd County church, is also facing a charge of sexual abuse of a child by being a person in a position of authority or special trust.

The children suffered serious physical abuse, according to the indictment obtained by WYMT.com, and one article of evidence submitted in the case is a videotape of at least one child being abused.

Kentucky State Police continues to investigate.

Both suspects have been lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
