Police have made an arrest in the disappearance of a Pulaski woman missing since May 22.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said 33-year-old Danelle Powell, of Somerset, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with murdering 25-year-old LeeAnna Brumley.

Authorities said they believe Brumley was shot, then struck in the head with a hatchet and set on fire. Last week, investigators searched a field off Charter Oaks Road in northern Pulaski County and found multiple human bones. Authorities believe Brumley was lured to the location.

The bones were sent to the Medical Examiner’s office to confirm the identification of the body, but according to police, officials say all the information gathered during the investigation leads investigators to believe the remains are Brumley.

A person of interest in the case, Gerald Hendricks, 53, of Science Hill, was previously arrested on unrelated charges. Hendricks and Powell are being held in the Pulaski County Detention Center. Hendricks was given a $300,000 cash bond while Powell is being detained on no bond.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said additional arrests in the death of Brumley are expected.
