FRANKFORT, KY. (November 28, 2018) – The Senate Majority Caucus has announced its committee assignments for the 2019 General Assembly. Senator Steve Meredith (R-Leitchfield) was named the new Vice-Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Health & Welfare.
“I am honored to be named the new Vice- Chairman of the Health & Welfare Committee,” Senator Meredith said. “While I am looking forward to my continued service as the Co-Chairman of the Government Contract Review Committee, I am eager to accept my new appointments to the Appropriations and Revenue and Transportation committees. The scope of work within these committees, in total, touch every constituent within my district, and I am excited to continue our work in the Senate to build a brighter future for Kentucky.”
Senator Meredith will continue to serve as the Co-Chairman of the Government Contract Review Committee. Additionally, he will serve as a member on the Senate Standing Committees on Transportation, Education and Appropriations & Revenue as well as the Medicaid Oversight & Advisory Committee.
The Senate Committee on Committees will officially confirm the new chairmanships upon the start of the 2019 Legislative Session.
