Wednesday morning at about 3:15, the Leitchfield Fire Department responded to 209 South Henninger Drive on the report of a vehicle fire near a residence and garage.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found an Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan fully engulfed in flames parked approximately 20 feet from the owner’s home.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within minutes, but not before the flames and heat melted the siding and shutters on the back side of the home.
The minivan owner’s son said the van had not been driven for several hours.
After examining the outside of the residence and garage to ensure the fire had not been transferred to either structure, LFD personnel cleared the scene at 3:49.
There were no injuries reported.
