Terry Hayes, a lifelong resident of Grayson County’s 3rd District, has announced his candidacy for Grayson County Magistrate.
Hayes said he” purchased his first 22-acre farm when he was 21-years-old, and as a result of hard work and sound financial decisions, he has grown his farming operations to 370 acres and increased his breeding herd to 140 head.”
He is also a member of the Grayson County Cattleman’s Association.
Hayes is the manager of Regal Petroleum, in Clarkson. He said he was “hired as Regal’s first truck driver in the Clarkson area and worked his way up to the manager’s position.”
He currently manages 12 drivers and oversees the hauling of over 25,000 barrels of crude oil to the Clarkson pumping station each month.
Hayes is family oriented and his Christian values influence his daily decisions, he said. He has been a deacon of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church since 1995.
Hayes married his wife, Angel, in 1989, and was blessed with two sons, Dustin and Dalton. In March, he became a proud grandfather to his grandson, Dexter.
Terry’s parents, Eugene and Ellen, are also residents of Grayson County’s 3rd District.
In a statement, Hayes said, “I have wanted to run for the county magistrate position for many years. I am an honest and hardworking individual, and if elected, I will do my best to make sure that your tax dollars are being utilized to make Grayson County a better place to live for your family and mine. I will spend the months up until election speaking with the residents of the 3 rd District about the issues that matter most to them. I welcome people to call me at (270) 230-5475 to discuss these issues as well. I appreciate your consideration and hope to earn your vote.”
